First Day Pretoria Zoo

Image
My first day at Pretoria Zoo started very late at approximately around 2pm ( South African time ). The Zoo is quite big to see all the animal in a day so we decided to see all the Mammal first. The animal in the Zoo are very well takes care of and coping much better in this heat than I was. I love big cats especially the Lions, and I was very happy to see so many animals around me. Don't know if they felt the same? Some people might be thinking how can they be happy in a cage, but you need to think that they are much safer in the cage than they could be in the wild knowing how barbaric minority of humans are poaching animal's for there skin's and tusk and for what just for there home decor and prove their masculinity? What do you think about Zoo's in general?

Gold reef city

Image
Gold reef city is a combination of rides park and casino. You might be wondering why do I say the casino in most of my blog? Do I love gambling? The answer is no I genuinely find casinos boring and hate it, but all these places I was referred to have casinos in it. Don't know why? do African people love gambling? I don't know? and I'm afraid to ask them thinking they might get offended and feel bad. Despite all of the above the rides park is an awesome place that you can enjoy with family. Apparently, someone told me that schools bring their students here for a field trip to demonstrate how Gold is made. Have no idea if its true but thought it would be cool to put in Blog.

Montecasino

Image
Montecasino is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in South Africa. Don't let the name distract it isn't only the Casino but series of everything in it like restaurants, game arcade theatre, hotel etc. Although I have realized that they are many casino's than I could count around South Africa. During the eve it was very busy and by speaking to some of the employees they say that on new years eve you would not find space to walk and I was like interesting. Among international sportsman and celebrity, this place is well-visited won't blame them but in reality, I really enjoyed spending time here.                                                                             arriving area                         ...

Menlyn Park & Time Square

Image
Menlyn Park don't let the name deceive you like it deceived me its less of a Park and more of a Shopping Centre just like Sandton City but it's in Pretoria. it has all the same features as Sandton City so I was a little disappointed. Time Square is known to host international festivals in Pretoria and it has also hosted W.W.E. Fun to walk around and meet different people.

Fordsburg Square & Mayfair

Image
During Easter weekend you would find fair in Mayfair nothing exciting and no guns like Randshow but just like any other fair you've been to rides, shops and food that's about it. I think it was mostly for local residents and teenagers but its fun I think. On the other hand 5 minutes away there is a busy place called Fordsburg Square here you would find a majority of Indian shops selling Chinese products and delicious Indian food. I don't know about you'll but ima sucker for good food and this place did not disappoint.                                                                        Fords burg                                                     ...

Rand show

Image
Rand Show happens once a year in Soweto it is part of Johannesburg during Easter weekend. It is 10 minutes away from Soccer city, it's a giant stadium South Africa built for the 2010 Fifa World Cup and where Shakira performed the final ceremony and Spain won the World Cup. I did not be able to go in because it was closed but it brought back the memories of me watching the World Cup. So as soon as I get in Rand Show it was mind-blowing. In Rand Show, you could find everything from home appliance, rides, custom cars & bikes, food and gun show from South African Military this much variety I did not expect.                                                                          custom cars                           ...

Mandela Square

Image
Sandton is beautiful but very expensive to live in. It is equivalent to New York City very busy, Life here is very fast and very expensive, but people tend to enjoy it rather than complain about it. It's a positive thing to hear from residents. while in Sandton I get to see Mandela Square by the way very popular local and international tourist destination. Who doesn't know Nelson Mandela? And if you don't know him I'm pretty sure you are from Mars hehe. Jokes aside Mandela Square Is very lively and relaxing with garden and beautiful architecture. I really enjoyed walking around it.

Sandton City

Image
Sandton Mall commonly known as Sandton City by far it is the biggest mall I have seen in South Africa so far even bigger than South African Airport. Here you could find anything and everything. In this mall I can see every single brand shops I have known and also the ones I have never heard of it is huge and mind-boggling. I could have never in my life imagine South Africa could make something like that, this Mall or should I say City could compete with many developed countries malls. It's remarkable. No words could describe how I am feeling now, but I tried.

Emperors Palace

Image
Emperors Palace makes you forget you in another corner of the world if you belonged to any developed country. its beautiful and modern consisted of Casino, Game arcade, restaurants and hotel. Emperors Palace is very well known in Johannesburg for hosting many International levels shows, from Bollywood to Hollywood A-list actors and performers has performed in Emperors Palace. Many well-known business tycoon and performers have stayed in Emperors Palace hotel as well. it is known for its luxury experience. Never the less shockingly its absolutely affordable because of currency differences. Even if you don't want to stay in their hotel it's fine you could visit the Palace for absolutely free, Yes you have heard it right entry fee is free and its easily reachable too. it is 10 to 15 mintues away from O.R. Tambo International Airport.

The Zone

Image
The zone isn't some club yet it sounds like one. Its a mall name in a place called Rosebank in Johannesburg. It gives you same vibe as the club thou. It is small yet consisted of many well-known brands like Zara, Levis and Guess you would find in many different shops within and if you're in Vaping habit you might just be lucky because you would find an amazing place in the mall with all the vaping accessories from flavors to actual mods. Many amazing places to eat at too.

Interacting with White South African's

Image
I see on many mainstreams and well-known news channel's and newspapers talk about South Africa's new law to distribute white minority farmers land among African majority. So I got to speak about this topic to white minority couple which they gladly talked about saying it has nothing to do about improving the living standard of African people but to keep the ruling political party A.N.C ( African National Congress) in power, because finally that people have realized that the former president from the same A.N.C party faced multiple corruption charges and many other chargers due to which everything from petrol to food prices are gone up, which people can't afford the same thing that they could afford 5 or 10 years ago. This answer made me do some more research about this controversy and I have come to conclude that more than 60 to 70 percent of farming land belonged to the government which they sold happily to foreign investors soon I feel as that all the white minority farmi...

Interacting with South Africans

Image
Did you know 80 percent of South African's belongs to Sub Saharan ancestry, divided among a variety of ethnic group's speaking different African languages nine of which have official status not only in South Africa but also in neighboring countries like Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and Zimbabwe? Rest of the 20 percent of the population of the country includes European Whites who arrived with their colonies, Indian's were brought as a slave's by Europeans to farm Sugarcane from India and the mixed race (commonly with African and White) are known in South Africa as Coloured. I see South Africa as a multiethnic society with a different race, cultures and religions. Its diversity is also shown in the countries constitution which is recognized in 11 official languages combined with English from former British colonies and Afrikaans which was developed from Dutch by Dutch settlers. The diversity is also shown in there flags. Commonly in South Africa, South African'...

Arrived in South Africa

Image
South Africa is literally named after it's position on the world map. Upon formation, the country was named the Union of South Africa in English, reflecting its origin from the unification of four formerly separate British colonies. South Africa contains some of the oldest archeological human fossils sites in the world. Archeologists have recovered a huge amount of human fossils from a series of caves in Gauteng province which is also the largest economic hub of South Africa and where I landed. The province has one international airport called O.R. Tambo. It's South Africa's biggest and busiest airport, facilitating over 21 million passengers each year. More than 50 percent of South Africa's air traveling passengers are facilitated through this airport. I still think compared to New York or Dubai airport it is their youngest baby. What do you think?

My experince

Image
I think if traveling was free you would not find anyone sitting at home or being a slave to the corporate world. Traveling for me is like meditation it clears your mind and releases all unnecessary tensions, As well as keeps your mind open to many possibilities such as meeting different people, different cultures, different religions and different traditions. In other ways nature becomes your psychologist it helps you deal with different situations you get to face every day or should  I say every second of our life.
